Wrapping up a high-end courthouse with 5CM mechanically hung stone walls, precast stairs, and detailed porcelain throughout.

NCTS recently closed out a high-end courthouse project featuring 5CM mechanically hung stone walls, precast stone stairs, and large-format porcelain throughout the public corridors and chambers.

When the punch list came back at 290 pages, our project team treated it the way we treat every closeout: methodically, in coordination with the GC, and with our own QA walking ahead of the architect. Every item was tracked, assigned, and verified.

Mechanically hung stone at this thickness leaves no margin for substrate inconsistencies or anchor misalignment. Getting to a clean punch on a project of this complexity is a function of preconstruction planning, consistent crews, and a foreman culture that catches issues before the architect ever sees them.

Proof, as the team likes to say, is in the punch list.

Precision stone installation underway on 20 book-matched columns at the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort.

Tony Hammet and Mike Torres recently inspected progress on one of 20 book-matched stone columns being installed at the North Fork Mono Casino & Resort. Each column requires exact material selection, vein alignment, and installation accuracy to achieve a seamless mirror effect across the property's main public spaces.

Book-matching is among the most demanding stone applications in commercial construction. Adjacent slabs are cut from the same block and opened like a book so the veining mirrors at the seam. At column scale, that mirror effect has to wrap continuously around the form — meaning every face has to be planned, dry-laid, and verified before a single piece is set.

NCTS coordinated material selection at the quarry, fabrication at our shop, and field installation by our union crews. The result is a level of finish detail that reads as one continuous piece of stone rather than 20 individual columns.

Project work continues on schedule with additional stone scope ramping up across the resort interior.

NCTS Sources World-Class Marble from Carrara, Italy

NCTS traveled to Carrara, Italy to select premium marble for an upcoming U.S. project — directly at the quarry.

NCTS leadership recently traveled to Carrara, Italy — the historic source of some of the world's finest marble — to select material for an upcoming U.S. commercial project.

Sourcing at the quarry allows us to match veining and color across the full scope of work before any material is cut or shipped. For high-visibility installations, this is the only way to guarantee the finished result reflects the design intent.

Material was reviewed slab by slab, tagged, and staged for fabrication and shipment stateside. Our team coordinates directly with quarry partners and fabricators to keep schedule, quality, and budget aligned.

More to come as installation begins.
