Red Hawk is an entertainment staple in the Sacramento area. After years of planning, the 156-room hotel broke ground and rose to completion. In total we have just under 60,000 sf of tile comprised of 29 different styles and colors throughout the project, 7,500sf of which being thin porcelain. The most notable challenges of this project would be the coordination component, taking architectural renderings of the 5,000 sf lobby floor and producing a 100% custom, water jetted assembly of 61”x61”x6mm tiles with an accent tile flowing through the floor mimicking natural stone veining in both design and finish. To accomplish this task, we started with a 1” depression allowing for a self-leveling underlayment to be used to gain the tight substrate tolerance required for such a large tile. The substrate height was critical as it ties into the new hotel, hotel restroom rough-ins, elevator cabs, and the existing casino. Our team was able to complete the lobby restrooms prior to leveling the lobby, considering pre-existing conditions for ADA requirements such as pre-hung toilets and lavatories, door frames and the like, ultimately having a perfectly flush transition from the restrooms to the lobby floor with months of time between the installation of the two. The coordination between the rendering and the final product took several iterations. Being that we had to start production of the tile prior to walls being erected, we were unable to field measure conditions to ensure success. Instead, we used structural walls at the perimeter of the lobby as the benchmark for the pattern, allowing 2” of excess to be cut in field to account for construction tolerances.

Budgeting &
Value Engineering
With a staff of 5 estimators, 2 project managers and project coordinators we like to work on project documents as early as the schematic design phase. We will review your design drawings and specifications to establish budgets, provide constructability reviews, and value engineering ideas on materials and installations.
Proactive Project Management
With dedicated project managers and project coordinators we pride ourselves on focusing and working out the details during the submittal and pre-construction process. This enables us to head off major issues before everyone is staring at them in the field wondering how we are going to fix it and if there is enough schedule to get it done.
Administration
We have a dedicated staff ready to assist you with contract administration, billing, insurance, prelien, payroll reporting, and receivables needs.
Logistics
Getting the necessary materials to jobsites in a safe and timely manner is very important to us.
Quality Installers
Our installers are part of certified apprenticeship programs with journeyman certifications. We have field superintendents with decades of commercial tile and stone experience that oversee our teams of foreman that run the day to day field operations on all of our projects.

non-performing tile and stone sub. We planned to bring in NCTS to complete half the scope. After the first week, we decided to terminate the other sub and award the entire project to NCTS. They committed to 25 workers on site within the week and they delivered manpower and quality.

We need to be very selective when running a 2,000 room resort hotel and casino. When NCTS opened up their Nevada operations they came highly recommended.
